Dakshineswar Kali Temple was founded in 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, a philanthropist and devotee of Goddess Kali. Legend has it that Rani Rashmoni had a dream where the Goddess instructed her to build a temple. The temple complex, with its distinctive architecture and spiritual significance, soon became a center of religious and cultural activity.
Always love coming back to this beautiful Kali temple along the banks of the Hooghly river. Apart from being of great historical value and a revered place of worship, it is also architecturally gifted. One definitely feels at peace among the Kali and Shiv temples.
A divine place and temple is very clean. Ample parking space. All the basic facilities like paid toilets, parking, food court, prasad shops are available. Mobile, big bags, and shoes are not allowed and they can be deposited at the paid counters. Charge is 3 rs per footwear pair and mobile. We went in second half and queue is short. Did Darshan in 10 minutes.
