Salim Singh Ki Haveli was built in the early 19th century by Salim Singh, the then Prime Minister of Jaisalmer. He was known for his power and influence, and the Haveli was intended to be even taller than the Maharaja's palace, but construction was halted under royal orders. Legend says that the Maharaja was threatened by the Haveli's size. The Haveli was originally intended to have two more stories, but only five were completed. The Haveli is also known for its 38 balconies, each with unique designs and carvings, although some have been damaged over time. The Haveli has been passed down through generations and is now maintained as a historical landmark.
