The history of Piran Kaliyar Sharif is centered around Alauddin Sabir Kaliyari, a prominent Sufi saint of the Chishti Order. He was a disciple of Baba Farid Ganjshakar. Legend says that Sabir Pak, as he was affectionately known, was sent to Kaliyar by his guru. He spent his life in meditation and service to the poor in this region. After his death in the 13th century, a magnificent dargah was built in his honor. Over the centuries, the shrine has been patronized by various rulers and devotees, contributing to its growth and significance. The dargah stands as a symbol of interfaith harmony and the enduring legacy of Sufi saints in India.
