Built in the early 19th century by Major Gore Ouseley, the British Resident of Lucknow, Dilkusha Kothi served as a hunting lodge and personal retreat. Inspired by European architecture, it later became a summer residence for the Nawabs of Awadh. During the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny, the Kothi played a significant role, serving as a strategic location for both British and Indian forces. Heavy fighting during the siege of Lucknow left the palace severely damaged, and it has remained in ruins ever since. Despite its dilapidated state, Dilkusha Kothi stands as a poignant reminder of Lucknow's colonial past and the tumultuous events of the Sepoy Mutiny.

Dilkusha Kothi is a beautiful and peaceful place. Its architecture is amazing and surrounded by greenery. You might recognize it from the song 'Chal Tere Ishq Mein' from Gadar 2. It's a great place to visit for history, nature, and movie fans. Highly recommended!
No tickets for this place. This place comes with beautiful historical architecture. It's great for enjoying the sun or spending serene quality time with your friends and family. Great for clicking pictures too. The only issue is it's very rare to find rides from this place but if you are in your own vehicle it's not an issue. I see very rare tourists visiting this place but it was something I liked a lot.
