Established in 1960, Nandankanan Zoological Park started with a vision to conserve and showcase Odisha's rich biodiversity. Initially home to a limited number of animals, the park gradually expanded its collection through exchanges with other zoos and successful breeding programs. It gained significant recognition for its pioneering work in white tiger breeding, becoming the first zoo in the world to breed white tigers in captivity in 1963. Over the years, Nandankanan has evolved into a prominent center for wildlife conservation and environmental education, attracting visitors from across the globe.

Worth visiting Nandankanan as you can see variety of animals. Jungle safari has 4 gates Tiger, Lion, Bear and Herbivores. Ticket price: Rs 50/- per person Safari: Rs 100/- per person (AC bus) Timing: 8:00am to 5:00pm It almost takes 3-4 hours to see the complete zoo. And Nandankanan Zoological park is closed on Mondays.

First, you need to take an entry ticket of 50 rupees each. Animals and birds have been kept in large cages or spaces providing environment as close to their natural habitat as possible...!!!
