Initially, Sai Baba used to sleep in the Dwarkamai. As his fame and devotees increased, the villagers decided to offer him a more comfortable place to rest. Thus, Chavadi, which served as a village meeting place, was chosen. Sai Baba accepted this arrangement and started spending alternate nights in Chavadi from 1909 until his Mahasamadhi in 1918. The procession of Sai Baba to Chavadi became a significant event, with devotees accompanying him with bhajans and prayers. After Sai Baba's passing, the tradition of keeping his belongings in Chavadi continued, preserving the sanctity and historical importance of the place. The rituals and the atmosphere within Chavadi today reflect the practices followed during Sai Baba's time.
