Shree Siddhivinayak Temple was built on 19 November 1801. A wealthy Agri woman named Deubai Patil commissioned the temple's construction. She was childless and believed that building the temple would benefit other barren women. Laxman Vithu Patil, the temple's contractor, also experienced a divine intervention related to the temple's construction. Over the years, the temple has undergone renovations and expansions, but its core spiritual significance remains unchanged. It has become a prominent landmark in Mumbai and a symbol of faith for millions.
Visiting Siddhivinayak Temple was a truly calming and spiritual experience. The moment you step inside, there’s a sense of peace that fills the air. The temple’s beautiful architecture and the majestic idol of Lord Ganesha create a serene atmosphere that helps you feel connected. Even though it’s a popular place, the organized flow of devotees makes it easy to have a quiet moment of reflection. It’s one of those places that leaves you feeling uplifted and thankful. Definitely a must-visit for anyone seeking blessings and a sense of tranquility.
This temple is very very popular and always crowded. Good vibes. But some people take advantage of crowds and offer fast DARSHAN by charging extra money. They don't do any help except making money for themselves. Better to avoid them. If you are hard pressed for time, you can do MUKH DARSHAN from a distance of about 5-6 meters from regular line.
Went on a weekday morning and got blessings from ganpati bappa. You need to reach at 5am to attend the 5:30am aarti The temple is 5 mins distance from Dadar station, and you can get a taxi or sharing taxi for the same. Price is 30rs for 1 taxi since it's less than 1.5km, or 10rs per passenger. You don't need to buy flowers from outside or keep shoes outside, there are shoe racks available for free inside and flowers cheaper inside the temple. You can buy laddu Prasad for 30rs from the exit which has 2 boondi laddu Prasad straight from Bappa. Recommended to get vip Darshan pass of 100rs only if it's too crowded, otherwise normal darshan line is sufficient.
Good atmosphere, start away from the guys at Prasad stall who says you will arrange you quick darshan for some extra pay, on festivals and at busy queue times. It is an awesome place to have the darshan of ganpati ji here, free footwear stand is available inside, pockets & bags are being checked, same pan masala, gutkha, tobacco, cigarette, lighter, pudi etc not allowed in temple, Usually for free darshan it takes 10-30 mins, but on festivals it takes approx 1¼-2½ hrs according to num of visitors present. Other ₹100 & ₹1500 Darshan passes are available. Free ladoo Prasad is distributed at the exit, also extra Prasad can be purchased from counter.
