The history of Harsiddhi Temple is steeped in legend and antiquity. According to Skanda Purana, Goddess Harsiddhi emerged to kill two demons named Chanda and Prachanda. The temple is believed to have been rebuilt by the Maratha ruler, Peshwa Baji Rao I, in the 18th century.
