Ibrahim Rauza was built by Ibrahim Adil Shah II, the Sultan of Bijapur, in the late 16th century. It is said to have been inspired by the tomb of Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi. The complex was designed by Persian architect Malik Sandal and took over two decades to complete. Ibrahim Adil Shah II envisioned it as a symbol of his love for his queen and a testament to the architectural prowess of his reign.
This is my Third Visit to Ibrahim Roza. Very calm, beautiful and much better than Gol Gumbaz. Do not visit in the morning & noon. Suggest to visit during evening time. No food items allowed inside but you can carry water. This is well maintained compared to Gol Gumbaz.
Considered a monument of national importance this beautiful structure was build nearly 400 years back. There is a short walk from the entrance to the main complex. One has to remove shoes to enter the complex. But once inside you can see the grandeur and magnificence of the structure.
Beautiful Historical Monument and well managed .Entery ticket 20 RS. Place has big campus .Food item is not allowed inside. This place is second most popular after gol gumbad yet not too much crowded. washrooms are there but locked so useless.
One of the famous monuments in Bijapur. We hired a Guide and he explained the history and small small detailing in the architecture. It is really beautiful
