    History

MTR was founded in 1924 by the Maiya family in a small village called Parampalli, Karnataka. Initially, it was a humble coffee house, but it quickly gained popularity for its quality food and hygiene. In the 1960s, MTR introduced its iconic breakfast dishes, which became an instant hit. Today, MTR has several branches across Bangalore and India, but the original location on Lalbagh Road remains a favorite among locals and tourists alike.

This visit to MTR turned out to be a raining day pit stop! The show stealers were dosa( served hot and crisp), rava idly ( served with a mini cup of ghee which turned out to be a perfect accompaniment) and bonda soup ( rich in flavours that reminded me of the good old bengaluru's popular bonda soup that used to be served back in the days). Coffee and tea served here was a delight too without compromising on the autheticity of the beverage. The place has a decent atmosphere with moving crowd. A must visit if you wanna go back home with a satisfied feeling of having had good food!

MTR Hotel offers a mixed bag of experiences. While the ambiance is pleasant and service is swift, the star of the show is undoubtedly their exceptional coffee. Despite the enticing allure of masala dosas and mouthwatering badham halwa, the coffee is a standout feature.

This is the best tiffins among other cafes. We should wait in queue to get place and order will be served in max 10/15mins. Dosa items will be good here Masala, Neer, Ragi dosa, idly will be soft and if we eat it hot then it will be awesome. And coffee here is must try. Also we can try Minj tiffin which is good. Even lunch is nice here but should wait in peak hours
