The Nuranang Falls gained prominence during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The area surrounding the falls witnessed a fierce battle between Indian and Chinese forces. The bravery of the Indian soldiers, particularly Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, is commemorated by a nearby war memorial. The falls were originally named Jang Falls, but were later renamed Nuranang Falls. The name 'Nuranang' is believed to be derived from the local Monpa language. The construction of the hydel power station in the vicinity has further added to the historical significance of the location, showcasing the region's development.
What a beautiful place ❤️. The 🌈here is so beautiful. It is a therapy for the eyes. I am speechless. It has a beautiful meadow. Where you can rest after the short journey you have to take to reach here. #BUT ⬇️ ➡️Disappointed with the toilets. If there is a toilet, it should be clean.
The place is so amazing and all the time you can see the rainbow near the waterfall. You can spend some time in this place with the large rocks and a waterbody beside the falls. The waterfall has a great height and natural beauty is really mesmerising. You need to go down with the stairs from the actual park place to reach the actual location. In this place the shooting of Tanhai Tangai song of Koyla cinema has been done by Madhuri and Shah Rukh.
Jung Falls (Nuranang Falls) is an absolutely mesmerizing spot that left us in awe! The cascading water creates a thunderous yet soothing symphony, and to top it all, we were lucky to witness a gorgeous rainbow at the base of the falls – truly magical! Reaching the base requires a bit of a walk, so while the trail adds to the adventure, elderly visitors should be cautious as it can be a bit challenging. However, the effort is absolutely worth it for the breathtaking views and the serenity of the place. Don’t forget to take a moment to soak in the natural beauty and capture some unforgettable memories. Highly recommended for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts!
The waterfall is a treat for your eyes. The height from which the water falls is just amazing. Nobody dares to go near it. Also, the water is too cold, chilled to take a dip in the pool/river near the waterfall.
