History
The Mindrolling Monastery, originally established in Tibet in 1676, was re-established in Dehradun in 1965 by Khochhen Rinpoche along with a small group of monks. The monastery has since grown into a significant center for Tibetan Buddhist studies and practice. The Great Stupa, completed in 2002, houses relics, sacred texts, and murals depicting the life of Buddha. The establishment of the monastery in India helped preserve and propagate Tibetan Buddhism after the Chinese invasion of Tibet. Today, it serves as a center for education, cultural preservation, and spiritual guidance, attracting students and visitors from around the world.
