    History

Shri Radha Damodar Mandir was established by Srila Jiva Goswami, one of the six Goswamis of Vrindavan, in 1542. He received the Giriraj Shila (Govardhan stone) directly from Lord Krishna. The temple served as a center for devotional practices and scholarly activities. Over the centuries, the temple has been maintained and expanded by devotees and followers. It has witnessed periods of both prosperity and challenges, including times when the deities had to be moved for safety. The temple continues to uphold the teachings of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, preserving its rich heritage and spiritual significance. It stands as a testament to the enduring devotion of its founders and followers.
