    History

According to Hindu mythology, Sphatik Shila holds immense significance as the place where Lord Rama and Sita rested during their exile. It is believed that Lord Rama sat on this very rock while Sita applied tilak on his forehead. Legend says that Jayant, the son of Lord Indra, in the form of a crow, pecked at Sita's feet here. Angered by this act, Lord Rama shot an arrow at Jayant, leaving a permanent mark. The imprints on the rock are revered as evidence of their divine presence. Over centuries, Sphatik Shila has become a sacred pilgrimage site, drawing devotees seeking blessings and a connection to the epic Ramayana.
