The construction of Chowmahalla Palace began in 1750 under Salabat Jung and was completed in 1869 during the reign of Afzal ad-Dawlah, Asaf Jah V. It served as the center of administration and ceremonial functions of the Nizams. The palace witnessed numerous historical events, including the coronation ceremonies of several Nizams. After the Indian independence, the palace was neglected for several decades. However, it was later restored and opened to the public in 2005 by Princess Esra, the daughter of the last Nizam. Today, the palace stands as a testament to the rich history and cultural heritage of Hyderabad.

Chowmahalla Palace is truly one of the most beautiful palaces I’ve visited in India. It’s incredibly unique and captivating—the chandeliers, the intricate artistry on the walls, the exquisite crockery collection, and the stunning vintage car collection all come together to create an unforgettable experience. The overall vibe of the palace is so enchanting that you won’t feel like stepping outside. I simply can’t get over the beauty of this hidden gem. A must-visit for anyone who loves history and architecture.
The palace is a must-visit! The adult ticket costs ₹100, and there is a ₹50 fee for mobile photography. The palace is beautifully maintained and well-managed, offering a delightful experience. Parking is available at a minimal charge, which is very convenient. I recommend arriving at 10 AM when it opens to avoid the crowds. I visited on a Sunday morning, and it was calm and peaceful. Loved every moment!
Great experience. What an amazing and beautiful palace it is !!. It is like a mini museum, you can see all the things that the Nizam's family were using. Starting from war equipment to vintage cars , beautiful palace buildings, water fountains, and many more things. Its interior design and beauty will capture your mind. The ticket price is only ₹100 per adult, and is totally worth it. This place is situated within 5 minutes walking distance from Charminar. It remains open the whole week except Friday .
