Construction of Jag Mandir began in the late 16th century under Maharana Amar Singh I and was completed by Maharana Karan Singh II in the mid-17th century. It served as a pleasure palace and a refuge for Shah Jahan, the Mughal emperor, during his rebellion against his father. The palace later played a role during the Mewar rebellion against the Mughals. Over the centuries, it underwent several renovations and additions, reflecting a blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Today, Jag Mandir stands as a testament to the rich history and grandeur of the Mewar dynasty.
