Prior to its transformation, the area now known as Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park was a neglected and overgrown wasteland, dominated by the invasive 'baavlia' shrub. In 2006, a dedicated team of ecologists and conservationists initiated a remarkable ecological restoration project. The invasive species were painstakingly removed, and native desert plants, carefully selected and nurtured, were reintroduced to the landscape. The park is named after Rao Jodha, the founder of Jodhpur, and serves as a testament to the city's commitment to preserving its natural heritage. The park's creation has not only revitalized the ecosystem but also provided a valuable green space for the local community and a unique attraction for tourists.
