The history of the Redi Ganpati Temple is relatively recent, yet steeped in local lore. In 1976, a local named Sadanand Nageshkar dreamt of a Ganesha idol buried in the nearby mines. Following the dream, he and other villagers excavated the area and discovered the stunning idol of Lord Ganesha, along with a Shivling and a Parvati idol. The idol's unique posture, with the trunk turned right, immediately gained significance. A temple was then constructed to house the deity. The discovery is considered miraculous, and the temple has since become a significant pilgrimage site. The mines where the idol was found are believed to have been active during the Portuguese era, adding a historical layer to the site's spiritual importance. The temple's popularity continues to grow, attracting devotees from all over Maharashtra and beyond.
