Sankhya Sagar Lake

Sakhya Sagar Lake was created during the reign of the Scindia dynasty, who ruled the region of Shivpuri. It was designed as a reservoir to provide water to the city and also to enhance the beauty of the surrounding landscape. The lake was carefully planned and constructed, taking into consideration the natural contours of the land and the existing ecosystem. Over the years, the lake has become an integral part of the Madhav National Park, supporting a rich variety of flora and fauna. The Scindia rulers used the lake and the surrounding park as a hunting ground and a recreational area. Today, Sakhya Sagar Lake stands as a testament to the vision and engineering skills of the Scindia dynasty, offering visitors a glimpse into the region's rich history and natural heritage.
