The Bada Ganapati statue was conceived and created by Pandit Dadhich, a local artist and devotee, in 1875. He envisioned a massive representation of Lord Ganesha to inspire faith and bring prosperity to the region. The unique composition of the statue, using panchadhatu (five metals) along with jaggery, lentils, and soil from holy places, was intended to imbue the idol with divine energy. Over the years, the temple has become a significant religious landmark in Indore, attracting a large number of pilgrims. The temple has been renovated and maintained by the local community, preserving its historical and spiritual significance. It stands as a testament to the enduring devotion of the people of Indore.
