Peruvannamuzhi Dam

The Peruvannamuzhi Dam was constructed as part of the Kuttiadi Irrigation Project, aimed at providing irrigation facilities to the surrounding agricultural lands and generating hydroelectric power. The project was initiated to harness the waters of the Kuttiadi River and enhance the agricultural productivity of the region. Over the years, the dam has not only served its primary purpose of irrigation but has also become a significant tourist attraction. The development of recreational facilities around the dam has contributed to the growth of tourism in the area, providing livelihood opportunities for the local communities. The Smaraka Thottam, a memorial garden near the dam, commemorates the sacrifices of freedom fighters and adds historical significance to the site.
