The Bay Island Driftwood Museum is the brainchild of Mrs. Raji Punnose, a school teacher with a passion for art and a concern for the environment. She began collecting driftwood washed ashore on the beaches of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Recognizing the potential of these discarded pieces of wood, she started experimenting with sculpting and transforming them into art. After moving to Alleppey, she established the museum to showcase her unique creations. Over the years, her collection grew, and the museum gained recognition for its innovative approach to art and its commitment to environmental awareness. The museum stands as a testament to her artistic vision and her dedication to promoting sustainable art practices.
