Hazrat Khalil Ullah was a highly respected Sufi saint and spiritual guide who played a crucial role during the reign of Sultan Ahmed Shah II in the 15th century. The Sultan held him in great esteem and sought his counsel on matters of state and personal affairs. After Hazrat Khalil Ullah's death, the Sultan commissioned the construction of this magnificent Chaukhandi as a mark of respect and to preserve his legacy. The tomb complex reflects the architectural prowess of the Bahmani period and serves as a reminder of the close relationship between the rulers and religious figures. Over the centuries, the Chaukhandi has withstood the test of time, preserving its historical and architectural significance. It is now a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India.
