History
The history of Shangarh is intertwined with the Shangarh Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Legend has it that the Pandavas, during their exile, sought refuge in this valley. They found a peaceful meadow, which is now the Shangarh meadow. To protect them from any danger, Lord Vishnu transformed himself into a tree. The temple was later built to commemorate this event. The village has since been a place of religious significance and a sanctuary for those seeking peace and tranquility. The architecture of the temple reflects the traditional Kath-Kuni style, a unique building technique prevalent in the Himalayan region.
