Rang Mahal was constructed by Raja Umed Singh in the late 18th century as a residence for the royal family and his wives. It reflects the architectural influences of both the Mughal and British styles prevalent during that period. After the death of the last ruling descendant, the palace was taken over by the Himachal Pradesh Government and converted into a museum. The museum now houses a rich collection of paintings, costumes, jewelry, and other artifacts belonging to the royal family, offering a glimpse into their lifestyle and the region's history.
