Longding's history is deeply intertwined with the Wancho tribe, who have inhabited this area for centuries. Historically, the region was marked by inter-village conflicts and headhunting practices, which have now been abolished. The Wanchos are known for their unique social structure, with hereditary chiefs and a strong sense of community. The area remained largely isolated until recent times, and its history is primarily preserved through oral traditions and cultural practices. The influence of modernization is gradually reaching the region, but the local communities are striving to maintain their cultural heritage. The history of Longding is a testament to the resilience and rich traditions of the Wancho people.
