The Lower Gompa was established relatively recently compared to other monasteries in the region, but it holds immense religious and cultural significance for the local Monpa community. It serves as an important center for Buddhist learning and practice. While its exact founding date is not widely documented, the monastery has grown in prominence over the years, attracting both local devotees and tourists. It plays a vital role in preserving the traditional Monpa way of life and the teachings of Buddhism. The gompa has undergone several renovations and expansions to accommodate the growing number of monks and visitors.
Excellent place for mind refreshments. Very peaceful and happy place for spending holidays with family.
This place is wonder and devotional but it is specifically under construction. Most of its part is already made from old times though a new building is being build which is much gigantic , then the gonpa itself the area is near the local market and is peace full , it is prefer to visit it in afternoon hours because the street light just add ups to the beautie of the place and become awesome for picture clicking.
It is a nice place to worship. We have visited with my family and feel fresh and comfortable.
