Churu Fort was constructed around the 17th century by the Thakur Kushal Singh, a Rajput ruler. The fort witnessed a significant event during the 1857 Sepoy Mutiny when Thakur Shiv Singh, the then ruler, used cannons made of silver to defend the fort against the British forces. This act of using silver ammunition highlights the economic constraints faced by the rulers during that period and their determination to protect their territory. Over the centuries, the fort has undergone several changes and renovations, reflecting the evolving architectural styles and the changing fortunes of its rulers. Today, while some parts of the fort are in ruins, it remains a symbol of the region's history and the bravery of its people.
